What is the difference between CAT5 ,CAT5E and CAT6
CAT5e
Comparing to CAT5, CAT5e cable has lower attenuation, less crosstalk, and higher attenuation to crosstalk ratio(ACR) and signal to noise ratio(SNR), smaller delay difference, the performance is greatly improved. CAT5e is mainly used in 1000Base-T Ethernet, guaranteed bandwidth can reach 155MHz.
●Meet ANSI/TIA-568-C.2 Category 5e and ISO 11801 2nd Edition Class D channel standards. IEC61156-5
●Supports 1000BASE-T applications – IEEE 802.3ab
●Supports Power over Ethernet – 2 pairs – IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at.
●Product family includes UTP, F/UTP, LSZH, PVC/PE, Commercial and Industrial cables.
CAT6
Cat6 Ethernet cable is certified to handle Gigabit Ethernet with a bandwidth of up to 250 MHz. the comprehensive attenuation crosstalk ratio (PS-A CR) of the CAT6 cabling system at 200MHz should have a large margin, which provides 2 times the bandwidth of CAT5e. The transmission performance of CAT6 is much higher than CAT5e, which is most suitable for applications with transmission rates higher than 1Gbps. An important difference between CAT6 and the CAT5e is that: the performance of crosstalk and attenuation is improved. For the new generation of full-duplex high-speed network applications, excellent attenuation performance is extremely important. The basic link model is eliminated in CAT6 cabling standards, adopts the topology of the star shape. The required cabling distance is: the length of the permanent link should not exceed 90m, and the channel length should not exceed 100m。
