AITE Cable manufactures Extra High-Strength copper-clad steel tracer wire for horizontal directional drilling, directional boring, trenchless installation and underground utility locating applications.
This HDD tracer wire is designed for projects where higher pulling force, longer runs and demanding underground conditions may break standard open trench tracer wire.
HDD installation places higher mechanical stress on tracer wire than standard open trench work. Extra High-Strength CCS tracer wire is recommended when the wire may be exposed to pulling force, boring operations, rugged soil or long underground runs.
The extra high-strength copper-clad steel conductor provides a higher break load for HDD, boring and trenchless installation conditions.
The 45 mil HMWPE/HDPE insulation provides thicker outer protection for demanding underground installation environments.

For ordinary open trench projects, High-Flex or High-Strength CCS tracer wire may be sufficient. For HDD and trenchless boring, Extra High-Strength CCS tracer wire is recommended.
